By using our website and purchasing from us, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. Collectors Standard is the trading name of International Safe Company Pty Ltd (ABN 23 131 133 922).

What information we collect

We collect personal information that you provide to us or that is necessary to provide our products and services, including:

Identity and contact details — your name, email address, phone number, billing and delivery address.
Order and transaction information — the products you buy, order numbers, and correspondence with us.
Payment information — payment is processed by our payment providers. We do not store your full card details on our own systems.
Technical and usage information — such as your IP address, browser type, device information, and how you interact with our website, collected through cookies and similar technologies.
Waitlist and marketing details — your email if you join “be the first to know”, subscribe, or otherwise ask to hear from us about launch, products and offers.

How we collect it

We collect personal information directly from you when you place an order, create an account, contact us, join our waitlist, or subscribe to marketing. We also collect some information automatically through our website and through third-party service providers (our e-commerce platform, payment providers, couriers and, where connected, analytics or email tools).

How we use your information

We use your personal information to:

process and fulfil your orders, including delivery and returns;
take payment and prevent fraud;
communicate with you about your order or enquiries;
send you launch, product and marketing emails where you have opted in (you can unsubscribe at any time);
improve our website, products and customer service; and
meet our legal and regulatory obligations, including tax and record-keeping.

Disclosure of your information

We may disclose your personal information to:

Shopify, which hosts our online store, checkout, customer accounts and related services;
payment providers shown at checkout, including Shopify Payments and any other method we enable (for example PayPal);
couriers and freight companies allocated to your order, so they can deliver it;
analytics or email tools we actually connect to the store (we will only use tools we have installed);
professional advisers, such as accountants and lawyers; and
government or law enforcement bodies where required or authorised by law.

We do not sell your personal information.

Overseas disclosure

Shopify (and Shopify Payments) host and process store, checkout and payment data, typically in Canada, the United States and other locations outside Australia. Couriers and freight providers receive the name, phone and address needed to deliver. If we use analytics or email tools, they may also process data overseas. We only use providers we believe handle information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.

Cookies

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to keep your shopping cart working, remember your preferences, and understand how our site is used. You can disable cookies through your browser settings, though some parts of the site may not function properly as a result.

Data security and retention

We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. However, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We keep order and tax records for at least seven years. Other information is kept only as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy, or as required by law.

Marketing and opting out

The “be the first to know” signup on our site is for launch and product emails. If you have opted in to receive marketing, you can opt out at any time by using the unsubscribe link in our emails or by contacting us directly.

Complaints

If you believe we have breached the Australian Privacy Principles or mishandled your personal information, please contact us and we will investigate. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
